About the Role
Senior Project Estimator
Refurbishment - Leisure, Education & Hotels
This is a key hire within the commercial function, offering the opportunity to work across a varied national portfolio of refurbishment projects within the leisure, education, and hotel sectors. Rather than being tied to a single framework or programme, you will support projects from early engagement through tender submission and handover to delivery teams.
You will work closely with Bid, Commercial, and Operational teams to produce robust, competitive, and commercially sound pricing, supported by a flexible hybrid working model and a collaborative, inclusive business culture.
The Role
As a Project Estimator, you will be responsible for:
Producing accurate and competitive pricing for refurbishment projects across leisure, education, and hotel sectors
Preparing, issuing, and analysing supplier and subcontractor enquiries
Measuring and producing quantities for refurbishment and building works
Pricing projects from first principles, including labour, plant, materials, preliminaries, and overheads
Preparing detailed cost plans, tender breakdowns, and supporting documentation
Supporting and leading value engineering exercises to align proposals with client budgets
Working closely with delivery teams to understand buildability, sequencing, risks, and constraints
Liaising with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to fully understand scope and requirements
Identifying and managing commercial, technical, and operational risks at tender stage
Attending tender reviews, internal meetings, and client discussions as required
Supporting smooth handover from pre-construction to live delivery teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as an Estimator or Project Estimator within a refurbishment-led contractor environment
Experience pricing refurbishment projects in leisure, education, hotels, or similar occupied sectors
Strong capability in first-principles estimating and cost planning
Ability to manage multiple tenders and pre-construction projects simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
Confidence working collaboratively with site and commercial teams
Experience using estimating software such as Causeway (advantageous but not essential)
Good working knowledge of SMM7 or NRM measurement methods
