Location: East London & Essex (covering areas including Newham, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Havering and surrounding Essex locations)

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card

Role Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Multi Trader to join a well-established maintenance team carrying out reactive and planned repairs within occupied social housing properties across East London and parts of Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. Working across multiple trades, you'll be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance while providing an excellent service to residents.

The role is field-based, covering East London and surrounding Essex areas, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling between properties throughout the working day.

The Role

As a Multi Trader, you'll be carrying out a wide range of repairs and maintenance works within occupied and void social housing properties. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload and working independently.

Typical duties will include:

• General carpentry repairs including doors, locks, skirting and kitchen repairs
• Basic plumbing works including taps, toilets, sinks and minor pipework repairs
• Patch plastering and making good
• Basic tiling repairs and replacements
• Painting and decorating touch-up works
• General maintenance and multi-trade repairs
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
• Maintaining excellent customer service when working in residents' homes
• Using a PDA or job management system to receive and update works completed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is reliable, customer-focused and confident working across multiple trades.

You will have:

• Previous experience working as a Multi Trader within social housing, maintenance or repairs environments
• Strong all-round trade knowledge across carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance works
• Experience working within occupied properties
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• A professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with residents
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads

Essential Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence (less than 3 points)
• Experience working as a Multi Trader or in a similar maintenance role
• Ability to travel across East London and Essex
• Comfortable using handheld devices or PDAs
• Eligible to work in the UK (proof required)
• DBS check (or willingness to undertake one if required)
