About the Role
Job Title: Commercial Administrator (Passive Fire)
Location: Essex (Hybrid)
Salary: >£33,000 + benefits

This role sits within the QS and Estiamting function and plays a key part in supporting operational teams by ensuring works are accurately costed and commercial performance is maximised. You'll work across the FRA contract, using Schedule of Rates (SOR) to protect margin, reduce risk and ensure compliance.
Duties
- Reviewing completed works to ensure accurate valuation using NHF Schedule of Rates and agreed contract mechanisms
- Updating the repairs/job management system to ensure correct SORs, labour and material costs are applied
- Identifying opportunities to maximise value and minimise commercial risk across repairs and maintenance workflows
- Reviewing, verifying and supporting approval of subcontractor claims and payments
- Raising purchase orders and supporting accurate cost capture
- Assisting with commercial reporting, analysis and financial month-end processes
- Providing general commercial administration and support to the wider commercial team
- Liaising with operational teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to resolve commercial queries efficiently
- Supporting continuous improvement of commercial processes and documentation
Experience
- Previous experience in a Commercial Administrator / Assistant Estimator or similar role within social housing repairs & maintenance
- Working knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates (essential)
- Experience managing subcontractor costs or payments
- Strong Excel skills and confidence producing reports or performance data
- Experience using job management systems
- A thorough and meticulous approach with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage deadlines, multitask and work on your own initiative
- Strong administration and numeracy skills
